APPLE SAY THEIR CREDIT CARD SHOULD NOT COME INTO CONTACT WITH LEATHER, OR YOUR OTHER DEBIT CARDS

Apple announced their new titanium credit card earlier this year, which first rolled out to the very select few before becoming available to all.

Created with Goldman Sachs and Mastercard, the actual titanium card (casual Fyre Fest Billy McFarland vibes...) is designed to work with your iPhone's wallet and promises no late fees, annual fees or over-the-limit fees. They say it's the "only credit card designed to take advantage of the power of iPhone".

It also comes with a load of other features, such as cashback on purchases made at Apple (convenient) and cashback on purchases made with the physical card rather than the wallet app, which you can use to track spending.

In the promotional video, Apple say:

"This is Apple card. A credit card created by Apple, not a bank. So it's simple, transparent and private - and it's the only credit card designed to take advantage of the power of iPhone. It works with Apple Pay, so unlike other credit cards, it helps you to easily understand your spending - by week, by month, or by category. And if there's a transaction you don't remember? Apple card uses maps to show you where it was - exactly where.

"Time to pay your balance? Apple card makes the interest you pay clear and transparent. A credit card that encourages you to pay less interest? Imagine that. What you won't pay is fees, because Apple card doesn't have any fees. Not even hidden ones."

But before we get distracted by the shiny-sleekness of the whole thing, it's important to remember it's still a credit card, so it requires good credit and a formal application process like any other credit card.

Each of the cards come with the user's name etched into the metal and according to CEO, Tim Cook, Apple employees have been using the cards since mid-July, carrying out beta testing for the company.

When the card was made available to the public this week [21 August 2019], an elaborate set of cleaning and care instructions were included within the credit card pack. One of which advised not letting the credit card touch other cards in your wallet, or come across leather or denim. Wait, what?

"Place your card in a slot in your wallet or billfold without touching another credit card," reads the card-owning guide. "If two credit cards are placed in the same slot your card could become scratched. "Some fabrics like leather and denim, might cause permanent discolouration that will not wash off."

Is this real life? Whatever you do, don't even think about using "window or household cleaners, compressed air, aerosol sprays, solvents, ammonia, or abrasives to clean your titanium Apple Card."

Isn't the most important thing making sure it doesn't come pre-loaded with a U2 album?
